Consideration of approval of recommendation on tort claim.
Claimant claims the walls of their solid waste container enclosure were damaged when their dumpster/solid waste container was being emptied. Claimant is claiming $3,460.00 for damages. Staff's investigation revealed a solid waste operator was emptying the claimant's dumpster/container at the claimant's business. The operator attempted to set the container down but was too close to the back wall of the container enclosure and struck the back wall with the container causing damage to the walls. There were items in the claimant's quote that were considered upgrades and the claimant agree to obtain anther quote without the upgrades. The revised quote was for $3,025.00.
Approval of tort claim #T19-0024, Solid Waste Commercial.
Staff Recommends approval to authorize the City's insurance carrier to pay the claim.
Motion to approve the claim.
